We were planning an early retirement in 2007 to go sailing around the world. We had done the car thing having been around Canada and the United States four times from one coast to the other, including Newfoundland and Alaska. We had traveled by plane to several global destinations, but boating is what was calling us. There is nothing like living life at 5 MPH - the average speed of a sail boat.
We were first bit by the boating bug back in 1975 after attending the Toronto Boat Show where we purchased our first boat, a 15 foot bowrider.
We purchased our current boat a Hunter 426DS in 2005, after more than two years of prowling the internet looking for just the right boat for sale. The boat we were looking for, had to be roomy enough to live on for extended periods of time, with a separate shower, I just hate sitting on the toilet showering, and a galley roomy enough for two to work in. We are used to working together on everything, and that includes cooking.
